Alex Fitch b. 1987
Born and raised in Lawton, Oklahoma, I graduated with a BA in Letters from the University of Oklahoma in 2010. After foregoing post graduate studies, I moved to Austin, Texas where I worked at a vineyard, and began my ongoing project, “The Case of the Full Moon”, about my grandparents, and the land that stretches from West Texas to NE Oklahoma. In early 2018, I relocated to Beirut, Lebanon, in order to discover my mother’s family roots, ultimately creating a body of work which, in a way serves as an extension of the American pictures. Using simple camera setups and a documentary approach, my photos often deal with an emotional landscape of a place, with family being an underlying motive that either sparks or drives the images.
